CRP and the bobNetwork

Here at the bobNetwork we've been proud to associate ourselves with CRP, a charity we’ve steadfastly supported over the last few years.

CRP – The Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed is something quite remarkable. It receives no state funding, relies almost entirely on volunteers and peoples generosity, yet remarkably, it celebrated its 25th anniversary last year.

When we came across CRP there was one reason why we took to it straight away. Given the truly amazing amount of care it provides for its patients coupled with the fact that it is the only one of its kind in Bangladesh, the amount of good it does for the country is incalculable.

Located principally in Sarvar it has outreach programmes across the country and has progressed from very modest beginnings to become the country’s leading medical establishment in the treatment of spinal injuries. From treatment to rehabilitation, from special needs to raising awareness and training CRP has a crucial role to play in the future of Bangladesh.

We all know the plight of Bangladesh and the reliance it has on foreign aid. We give generously yet for most of us we donate at a micro level to families and local villages yet we seldom think at the macro level of trying to help everyone. Our own research has suggested that the main reasons are trust and cost. With CRP we have satisfied ourselves that the degree of transparency is in keeping with our members wishes and with two percent in admin costs and an annual audit we are more than happy to endorse CRP
